During recent events that I have attended, I have been approached on several occasions by people asking me how to post on uk8ball so I have decided to make a set of simple instructions on the basics of the site. RegistrationIn order to reply to any topics on uk8ball you need to register. This is a quick and simple process. To register, go to http://www.uk8ball.com/user.php?op=registerYou will be presented with two boxes asking for your desired username and your E-mail address as shown below. Hit “Register” and you will then be asked to confirm your registration details. If all is correct hit “Yes” and you will then be given a confirmation of your username and a password that is randomly selected. On the same page there will be a box that you can then use to log in. Starting a New TopicOn any page on uk8ball there is a link that will take you to the forum page. It is located in the top right hand corner. Once you are on the forum page, select the subject, from the list at the bottom, which is relevant to your topic. On the following page, click the button that says “New Topic” which is located near the top left corner. You will then be presented with the page that you can use to create your new topic. Make sure you enter a subject or the post will be rejected by our system. Once you have entered any details that are relevant to your post, hit “Submit”. If you have entered all of the required fields you will be taken to view your post and your topic will then appear on our forum page. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM any of our site staff who will help you the best that they can. [ This message was edited by: ProfessorPool on 2007-06-26 11:13 ]

I do agree though that it shouldn't cost over £600 for entry and a couple of nights in a hotel.

I must admit I am tempted to sell the house and sit on the equity. Having moved up the housing ladder a few times, we are quite lucky to have a house worth a fair few quid. But then again, I thought that about 4-years ago as well, so would of missed out on shed loads of dosh. Who knows what the market will do? everyone has an opinion. Prices in London have fallen a bit, but here is sunny Wiltshire, so far there hasnt been a market correction.
It would be nice to look into the crystal ball and know that selling now, and renting for 2 years, would mean being able to buy a property twice as big in 2 years time. If only life was that easy!
Mind you, even if prices do fall, I cant see the 100% mortgage ever returning. Personally I think every home buyer should have to put up at least 10% as a deposit. But then again I would, as I have a house. I would never of got onto the housing ladder 20+ years ago, unless I could of gopt the 95% mortgage I started with.

Just bringing you all up to date, I have 11 places left at the moment, but still have entries who have not paid deposits, so as per usual, I am going to get let down at some stage. Anyone who is sitting on the fence, now is the time to contact me and submit your entry, the quicker it fills now the better and I can get on with it. Very surprised its not full and amazed at some of the players who have not entered. It really is a level playing field at these events, so if you are interested, but have a question or two, then simply pm me or email at supremepooluk@hotmail.com

I'd personally have Adebayor over Torres, or Drogba, who I believe is the best all round striker in the world. I put Torres alongside Berbatov in terms of all round quality, and those two are *just* behind Adebayor and Drogba in my reckoning.
As for in Europe, I'd still have Van Nistelrooy, who is possibly the most lethal finisher I've seen, over Torres too. Can't really be assed to think of any more, even if there are any. I think Torres is brilliant, but not the best in Europe. Probably top 5. good post.

QUOTE !!! whoever said liverpool will win the league just because theyve been busy in the transfer market is f***in crackers! not a chance! theyve not bought that well anyway imo...babel is good buy, but torres is way over-priced for an unproven player (especially as it takes even the best strikers(berbatov aside) a while to get to grips with the prem)...the rest are just squad players and cant win liverhump a title..never!
1st. man u- it kills me to say it, but with rooney, ronaldo, nani, anderson, hargreaves and now tevez they will be too good over the season imo.
2nd. arsenal- all the talk of "club in turmoil" will go away when wenger signs. cesc has already pledged his future to the club. bring in another striker b4 the season and the kids from last year will have matured enough to mount a challenge...no title this yr tho imo.
3rd. chelsea- not bin too busy but didnt need to do as much as the other 3 imo. shev to come good this season and if franky stays they wont be far off again.
4th. liverpool- never win a title, ppl just getting carried away cos theyve had the cheque book out and bought an expensive flop and a few bench warmers. u can wrap a turd in tinsel..but its still a turd!!
Are you sleeping with Jasetheace????
And how do you think your club Leicester will do this year.......??
Liverdump's spending has just helped consolidate 3rd/4th. If United and Chelsea had bought no one in then perhaps they would have been significantly closer.
But united have strengthened an already better team and squad with some very good signings. And Tevez will be the icing on the championship cake.
Chelsea will be tough to be beat though. Pizarro, Alex and Malouda will be useful additions.
United to edge it from Chelsea again for me. It's interesting to look back at this thread and people's theory about who would finish where this season. Doyley confirming the humpers would land their first Premiership the highlight

That wank*r of a defender Alex and Pter Ceck cost me a few bob as I had backed Chelsea, Utd, Fulham, Celtic and Rangers. His mistake gifted Bolton that very late equaliser.
FWIW, Chelsea put up a miserable performance for a team playing at home with the title on the line. A good team would have been 2/3 up at half-time and putting real pressure on Utd
